The City of Paris Suspends 78 Activity Leaders, 31 Over Suspected Sexual Violence

The new mayor announced measures (transparency, a listening and reporting unit, Children's House) after 78 staff were suspended this year, including 31 over suspected sexual violence in out-of-school care.

The new mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, the mayor, announced that 78 staff in out-of-school time have been suspended since the start of the year, including 31 for suspicions related to pedocriminality.

The municipality will create a listening and reporting unit intended to receive alerts directly from parents and to forward cases to the authorities and support mechanisms.

The City also plans to support the opening of a Children's House to provide multidisciplinary care (health, psychological support, legal assistance) for minor victims.

In response to the crisis, the City's Children's Defender office has received about 150 reports since December 2025, mostly related to out-of-school time.

The role of out-of-school activity leaders is at the heart of the announced measures, with disciplinary suspensions, the promise of an independent audit, and calls for sanctions from many parents.
