Zack Polanski falsely claimed to be British Red Cross spokesperson, charity says

The British Red Cross says Zack Polanski was not a spokesperson despite his claims; the Green leader also faces questions over hypnotherapy credentials and antisemitism controversies within the party.

The British Red Cross has said Zack Polanski was not authorised to act as a spokesperson for the charity, and it has raised the matter with the Green party after claims on his website and campaign material.

The Times reported that Polanski also overstated his standing with the National Council for Hypnotherapy, a professional body that registers and recognises trained clinical hypnotherapists.

Polanski’s past work as a hypnotherapist — including a 2013 media episode about using hypnosis for breast‑size change that he has apologised for — has been scrutinised alongside the membership claims.

The controversy has become part of wider tensions in the Green Party of England and Wales campaign, which has also faced allegations of antisemitism by some candidates and public calls from Caroline Lucas for immediate action.

Polanski posted examples of hosting fundraisers on X (formerly Twitter), while opponents and a Labour spokesperson have said the issues raise questions for voters in local contests such as those run by Lambeth Council.
