Koldo García presents himself as a loyal subordinate to Ábalos and denies a corrupt scheme

Before the Supreme Court, former adviser Koldo García defended that he acted out of loyalty and diligence, denied payments and knowledge of a corrupt network linked to Aldama and the masks.

The trial at the Supreme Court centers the proceedings of the so-called Koldo Case, where Koldo García has declared himself a loyal subordinate of José Luis Ábalos and denies having organized a corrupt network.

The Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office and the Civil Guard maintain that García connects pieces of the scheme linked to mask contracts awarded to Soluciones de Gestión, but the defendant says he was unaware of the ties to Víctor (or businessman) Aldama.

Aldama, who confessed to wrongdoing to reduce his sentence, stated that part of the commissions went to financing the PSOE and that he spoke with Pedro Sánchez, assertions that García denies and attributes to reimbursements managed from the Organization Secretariat (PSOE).

In the case there also appear indications of handling cash, including 500-euro banknotes that García attributes to party reimbursements and to exchanges made for the Civil Guard, while the party denies cash payments.

In addition to the alleged payment of commissions, the investigation examines supposed favors in appointments to bodies such as ADIF and actions carried out by García that Anti-corruption deems irregular, for which it is seeking nearly 20 years in prison.
