Iran’s FM Abbas Araghchi says Tehran is prepared for diplomacy with the US, calling a deal achievable while condemning a large US military build-up as unnecessary and harmful.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran is “prepared for peace” and that a diplomatic agreement with the United States is reachable if based on a fair, win‑win approach.

Araghchi criticised the US military deployment, including the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, calling the build‑up “unnecessary and unhelpful” for negotiations.

He reiterated Iran’s insistence on its right to uranium enrichment, saying the US has not demanded “zero enrichment”, and offered limits and monitoring on enrichment activities Uranium enrichment.

The talks plan to move to a draft written proposal from Tehran to US negotiators led by Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, following agreed guiding principles for a potential deal.

Araghchi warned that military action would have disastrous regional consequences, noting past measures like sanctions and the UN “snapback” mechanism have not compelled Iran to abandon its programme.
